Election Day

This is the happiest day of my life. Well, at least the happiest Tuesday I’ve had in a while. I am ecstatic to see voting day finally come, and am looking forward to the end of TV ads, lawn signs, and heated debates between armchair politicians. This process has been entirely too long, and today is the culmination of not only their months of campaigning, but also my feelings of apathy for not really being thrilled with either candidate.

No, I am not what they call an “undecided voter;” I mean, come on, people should know who they’re going to vote for based on their own views and values, not by who the talking heads at CNN say is ahead or behind in the polls. Polls? What polls? No one called me. What a joke. Anyway, I made my decision a while back, but that doesn’t mean I am over the moon about it. I just see it as the lesser of two evils (and I use that term loosely).

Sadly, neither Jon nor I voted early, so we will be at the Cleveland Park Community Center at 7:00 this morning. We will stay as long as it takes, though I am betting my neighbors aren’t early risers, as most of the racket people make around here happens late into the night. I am sure everyone reading this will do their civic duty and vote, and I have a feeling you are looking forward to the end as much as I am. Happy voting!

I, too, am thrilled it's election day. But unlike you I am having a blast watching the political commentary on the election while on maternity leave (we don't get the ads or the lawn signs, so I guess it's the best way to view an election). Both B.D. and I have done our duty and voted via absentee. So now I'm watching Fox News and anxiously awaiting the results. Long live the democratic process, and thank goodness SOMEONE still wants to take on that job.

You get to watch from a nice, cushy distance...whereas if I hear one more of my professors tell me their opinion like it's fact, I just might explode! Enjoy the news! :)

Sorry about your flat this morning, I too waited to vote, had to wait outside for a while, it got cold. I probably came through just a little before you or I would have surely stopped to assist or help in any way. See you later. Brenda
