The Cinque Terre

Vernazza - this is where we stayed
It happens this time of year: the excitement of the holidays is over, not to mention all those days off work, and the cold starts setting in. If you're like me, you're thinking about your next vacation and reminiscing about vacations past. Ah yes - This is how I started thinking about Italy.
Corniglia

In November 2003, while I was studying in London, I went to the Italian Riviera in northern Italy. It's called the Cinque Terre ("Five Lands") and it was absolutely wonderful. I am from Alaska, and I've traveled a bit, but I'd never seen anything like it. I have been other places since then, but this is still the most amazing place I've been. The scenery, the food, the wine, and especially the people...simply fabulous. Enjoy the photos posted here (click to enlarge), and think about your last - or next - vacation! ~ Lois

Lois, I have always loved your pictures of northern Italy..hope you can go back again, and if you do, think about driving along the Amalfi Coast, south of Naples. What an awesome country!

I have also hiked the five cities, and I agree it is the most amazing place on earth. I would love to go back, especially on days when the Nashville temp is 13 degrees.

Hey kids, the puppy is cute. How do the kitty babies get along with him? I hope you find a good home for him. We're doing good, enjoying a nice Saturday, come on Spring. Brenda and Glen
